This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Wow... nice! Minus a few niggling complaints
Pros:
- 2560x1440 resolution is a Godsend. Just utterly spectacular definition/detail, and is a feast for the eyes.
- The monitor arrived without a single dead or hot pixel. I was quite impressed.
- Love the swivel mount, and I use the monitor sideways when doing documents sometimes.
- Three USB 3.0 ports is such a nice option!
- Speakers? I guess some care about this. I think speakers on a monitor is a complete waste of materials, and they will never sound better than even cheap desktop speakers. But I digress...
- Reviews put this monitor's color reproduction as "slightly above average", but this PLS panel is eons above my BenQ TN gaming monitor when it comes to color clarity. It was a little hot in the reds when I first got it, but it's easy to cut down the red temp.
- Good menu options. PiP is also a great option!
- Decent backlight control (see CONS for a way to fix this issue)...
2. Fantastic, for Mac or Windows users.
From the description, it really looks like this monitor has... everything:
Gorgeous Samsung PLS display, USB 3.0 hub, built-in speakers, audio out/in, built-in webcam, HDMI x2, Displayport, DVI - the works. So how does it all work together? Quite simply, - excellently.
For reference, I'm using this with a 2011 MacBook Air with a mini Displayport -> Displayport cable. I'm able to run at full 2560x1440 on the LCD, and sound is also transferred over this cable. Excellent!
Picture quality out of the box was decent, but not quite there. It was very cool, - very blue looking. A quick calibration with my i1 Display Pro and the colors come right in line. This is a great LCD for photographers.
The Good:
1.) Excellent array of ports for all kinds of connectivity.
2.) Well packaged, incredibly simple to put together (no tools needed), and Philips include a power cable, DVI cable, Displayport-to-Displayport cable, and 3.5mm to 3.5mm...

Great Features and Size, Image Quality Could Be Better
I'm going to start this out by saying I'm picky about my monitors. Maybe picky to the point of being minorly OCD about it, so take a few of my negatives with a grain of salt.
At first look, this is quite nice. The panel is HUGE and had no dead pixels, is easily adjustable on its sturdy stand, and can flip from landscape to portrait easily (assuming you have it high enough up to actually rotate without hitting your desk). Colors are bright and fairly smooth, and the bezel has a fine matte finish. Inputs include dual-link DVI, multiple HDMI inputs and Display Port (they also include a Display Port cable - NICE).
Color registration out of the box is pretty bad. Much too cold, even when set to sRGB, and the gamma settings are simply inaccurate. Setting gamma to 2.2 and checking against any of the online gamma pages show it to be way off. Thus, you have to get in and set things up manually to get it close to accurate.
I do not have an external monitor...
