I am providing this extensive review because so many reviews are really limp and tell you nothing other than the monitor works great. I have had 4 LCD monitors over the past 15 years to include Samsung Sync Master and View Sonic. All have been 19 inch cold cathode lcds. All of my work is documentation and CAD tools for engineering, surfing the web, etc., it is not used for entertainment. I have a Professional Panasonic 60 inch Plasma HD TV for entertainment. Instead of buying another 19 lcd to display multiple CAD tool displays side by side, I decided to buy an LED LCD 25inch wide screen monitor for the same purpose since the prices on LED LCD large screen monitors have come down alot in the past year. That is below the $300 thershold. So far the best monitor I have had is a 19 inch Samsung Sync Master LCD cold cathode. It is 12years old and still produces the best screen excluding a CRT monitor. 1. It's ok
I needed a cheap monitor with HDMI input, and the V7 the cheapest I could find on Amazon with that function. (There, I said it, I was a cheap bastard on purpose.) LIke many other flatscreen monitors, the V7 is trimmed in fingerprint attracting gloss black. The base snaps on easily, and held there with a screw (no tools needed to install or remove). As yet, I've only pushed up scanned DVD video through it, so I can't just how well HD quality stuff looks on it. Yet. The viewing angles are quite wide, which is nice, but the speakers leave a lot to be desired. Very tincan like, in the way a cheap $10 set of computer speakers can be. The picture is pretty vivid, without smearing when there is a lot of action on screen. I'm happy enough with them, but only time will tell how much of a bargain they are.

2. Annoying Process
Sometimes this process is just plain annoying. It should be enough to just say this is a fine product and a very good value for the money without having to type ANYTHING else.

1. Good picture quality, but no TV audio output
I have owned this unit for about a year now. The picture quality is excellent and there are plenty of ways to hookup other components to the TV, even from the side. But the two grips I have about this unit is

1. There is no way to hookup the TV to your receiver to hear sound from the TV to the audio receiver. There are plenty of audio inputs BUT NO OUTPUT. I have checked and asked but this is not an option on this unit. I did not desire this function when I bought it and did not notice that it was without this option, but after hooking a DVD player and receiver, I wish I did.

2. A few times and for no reason at all, the volume will turn off. It doesn't indicate "Mute" or anything, the sound just goes off. At first I thought some how the mute button was pushed, eventhough I was no where near the remote. When trying to release the Mute using the remote nothing happens, the only way to get the sound back is to turn the TV power off then back on...

Great for W-7 systems. Sets up right of the box whether laptop or tower ...make sure you follow directions about initial touch of the screen. Easy touch.

This monitor has one of the most crisp and color accurate displays I've seen. As a Mac user and graphic designer, I am pretty picky about the monitors I use, and eyestrain can be a real issue. 1. Good touchscreen, display, and value
Having used both Elo and Planar touchscreens, I've always found the planar units to be more responsive and to have slightly crisper displays. This new model from Planar's "value series" did not dissapoint. I used it to build a touchscreen kitchen PC and paired it with a VESA100 undercabinet mount from 'Premier Mounts' (also available on amazon) and an old laptop.

THE GOOD:
*Most importantly the planar passes the "wife test" for ease of use.
*The 15" size at 1024x768 resolution is large enough for iTunes and Windows Media Center without any scrolling/resolution issues and yet leaves space below the screen for plates and objects on the counter.
*The other nice thing about this model is that the bezel around the screen is on the smaller side. Too many touchscreens have huge/ugly bezels.

The ASUS 278H is a great monitor so far. It is everything that was promised. It is a great paring to my new rig that uses a GeForce 770GTX.
I can run 3D at 1900x1080 @ 120Hz. I won't bore you with numbers and FPS (which too many worry about when they don't need to)
NOTE: Be aware the in order for you to run @120Hz, you "MUST" use the dual-link DVI cable that comes with the monitor... You cannot use the HDMI or you'll only get 1900x720@ 24 Hz. (Support forgot to mention this when I couldn't pull the 120 speeds) Eventually someone in support mentioned I had to have dual-link (that's all) From there I figured out the rest.
All run fantastic now... If 3D gaming was just all it's touted to be ;-)

I have seen the comments elsewhere about bleeding, etc. I had none of this, the monitor ran great form the box... The one thing I noticed here, is Amazon is a bit over priced and recommend a web search... That being said, "buy from someone that you know and trust... Sadly...

When a monitor sells for under $500 and claims Windows 8 compatibility, it turns heads. Comparable Windows 8 multi-touch monitors from Acer and Dell cost between $600 and $800.

When I saw the TD 2420 at around $330, I was intrigued.

It's not really Windows 8 compliant, but supports 2 finger touch. There is a bezel around the screen that stops the Windows gestures of swiping from the left, right and top. You can overcome this by resorting to the Start +C key command, but that's not multi-touch.

Nice price though.

2. Works great with Raspberry pi
I got this monitor to work with a Raspberry pi I purchased to go in the kitchen. Works great with the pi but had to turn on overscan in the pi settings to get the image and touch screen to work properly. Also had to get a virtual keyboard for the pi. All and all the monitor works just fine. Nice bright image and wide viewable angle. Touch accuracy is not bad. You should be directly in front of the monitor for the best touch accuracy. At an angle, your touch will be a little off and if your icons are small, a couple cm can make all of the difference. The stylus included in the bottom of the monitor make it handy, however, It blends into the facade so well, I had to add velcro to it and stick it to the side so it was plainly visible.

Very well designed, beautiful to behold. I love how the power and controls daisy chain so ultimately you only need one power cord plugged in. The only issues I had were related to the display port cables. I needed to purchase some new 1.2 displayport cables, the ones that came with the unit seemed to have issues getting the 6 monitors all working together from my Eyefinity 6 card for some reason. Other than that it was pretty straight forward putting it together. I did this alone, I strongly recommend you have some assistance with the physical construction of the setup. The most difficult part was screwing in the side LCD's while holding them up. With assistance this won't be hard to do. The LCD's have great color and are very sharp. I didn't notice any lag with the 8ms response time. Others may be turned off by that spec.

Contsruction is very solid. This thing is 100lbs-ish finished. Make sure you have a large work area. I have a 70 inch desk and this took up most of that...

1. Nice extension for sleek shots on fixed setup
I got it as an extension for my dad who is a professional photographer. He uses it on a Canon EOS DSLR to extend the display. The camera has a 3 inch display which doesn't help much in taking sharp pix and videos.
Resolution is great, and features couple of output/input options. the drawback is heavy weight, the package is quite heavy compared to size.
Oh one more thing; it says it ships from Jersey, that wasn't true. It ships from china and I got an invoice for less value. The seller says it's just for customs and I didn't like it. Just so you know, he won't change the policy for some reason. I was pissed to the point that I was about to send it back to them, but my dad needed the extension monitor.

1. Fantastic plasma...but it's not for everyone
I am really happy with this purchase. Here are the reasons:

PROS:

- Reasonable price for a 50" plasma. Great value.

- Great picture quality/color/detail (see caveat below)

- Appealing enclosure. Simple, clean. (This was big for me. I find that plasma case designs tend to draw too much attention to themselves. This TV has a slim dark grey, almost black frame. I like it since the plasma is dominated by the image and not by the unit itself. Also, a 50" TV is not a small appliance by any means and this allows it to not overpower a room.)

- DVI or HDMI inputs sold separately, as easily installed module. (This can be viewed as a 'con' but I like the idea of not paying for bell-and-whistles that I don't need. I only needed the DVI input)

CONS:

- Stand sold seprately.

Now having espoused how great this plasma is, it must be said that this TV is not for everyone. Internal processing (upscaling or rendering...

UPDATE:
I have now used this for several months. This TV is outstanding.
* The picture quality is excellent.
* Generates only modest heat.
* Generates no noise I've been able to detect.
* Glare/reflection is less than my old, non-plasma TV.

The only downside is that the manual is pretty hazy on some important topics: I can't figure out if there are screen-saver tools, so I'm still concerned about burn-in.

That notwithstanding, I'm happier with this purchase than I expected to be, and I had pretty high expectations... :)

The Panasonic TH-50PH9UK is the darling of knowledgeable A/V enthusiasts on a budget. Well reviewed by everyone from CNET to Audioholics, the 50PH9UK might be the most cost-effective way to put an incredible 50-inch plasma display in your entertainment system.

This monitor has some challenges to getting it working that don't affect product quality, but are worth pointing out, if only to save you some of the trouble.

1) This product does not come with a power supply. You can't use the monitor without one, so make sure you order one. At the very least they should tell you you need to buy a power supply separately.

2) The monitor comes with 4 cables. There are no instructions included telling you which ones you need, and which you don't (in other words, some of these actually ARE optional, but they included them). It would have been nice to know that, for example, you use the USB or the Serial cable, but not both (something I found online). I am still not quite certain if one uses the DVI cable with the monitor cable, or instead of it. I don't have a DVI connection, so I can't comment. One note: you also install the USB driver or the Serial driver. I don't know if anything bad happens if you install both, but...

If a 23" HD is what you need then LG's IPS237L-BN could be exactly what you are looking for. It supports the 1920x1080 resolution, the colors are as sharp and vibrant as I've seen in any LED and it comes with a super-thin bezel design.

The main input is, of course HDMI but it also has a D-Sub in and a headphone out port in the back. It comes with 'touch' control buttons which some may not like but the good news is that, once configured, and the defaults or the auto-config are good enough for me and probably for most, you don't really need to play with the controls that much,.

As for picture quality, you can hardly beat it on a monitor of this resolution. Even better, you can view it from almost any angle. I tested it with still pictures and 1080p video (smooth) and I couldn't find any faults whatsoever.

2. A solid monitor, with great upsides, and some downsides as well ... read on:
This monitor is great. I feel like I am staring into another universe when using it. Doesn't feel like I am looking at a screen.

It looks nice, especially when turned off (because the bezel looks so thin... its not actually that thin).

The color is great. Pictures I have seen for years all of a sudden look better, Like I am seeing them for the first time (and my last monitor wasnt even bad... it just wasn't IPS i guess)

It is nice and thin as well. It basically does what I need a monitor to do and I don't regret buying it, but there are some downsides.

It is very wobbly with the stock stand. I could use this monitor as a seismometer probably. Theres definitely a way to support it yourself by adding things under the screen but know that out of the box, it wobbles (a lot).

The menu buttons are press activated, no clicking. Sometimes they only register when you press soft. Sometimes only when you press hard...

1. Fantastic Looking Television, Awesome Price to Performance
This TV was made for me. As far as HDTVs go, this was extremely inexpensive, it's lightweight, and really thin. The picture looks incredible, but the view angle is not terribly good (it gets pretty dark if you're outside of probably 120 degrees or so. The HDMI inputs are great, and the TV's comb filter does such an incredible job with 1080i on my Xbox360, you can't even tell that the picture has been interlaced (though there is a lot of shaking when I hooked up my PC and ran it in 1080i). The VGA input does a great job, and doesn't over scan the way the DVI/HDMI port does. The speakers a great and LOUD, but make sure to get yourself a nice surround sound set, it's worth the money. Overall, you can buy a better TV, but I'll be confounded if you can find a better price/performance deal that this one.

2. Did you see the price!!!
I have owned the Samsung HLT4675S for nearly a month and have been very pleased. What a bargain for only $860!! The high definition picture is incredible in both over the air HD broadcasts and through HD cable. I also purchased the Samsung HTTX75 home theater in a box system, and the upconverted signal is awesome on the television. I don't know how I've lived without HD up to this time. The 720p resolution has been totally satisfying. I don't think spending the extra money for a 1080p would be worth the money at the present time.

My only complaint about the television so far is the complexity of using the same remote for the Samsung television and the Samsung home theater system. I am contemplating buying a universal remote so I don't have to juggle three remotes (tv, home theater, cable) to watch what I want and control the volume. I have also noticed a slight high pitched whine from the television on occassion but my wife has been unable to hear the same sound. Both are...

"It's the meers"
After a LOT of online research, I decided on this line of DLP. Samsung seems to have the DLP market pretty much cornered with quality and features like "slim fit" and "ultra slim fit" tv's. Very lightweight (+/- 44 lbs.), I mounted mine on a large floating shelf.

Bottom line: This IS a DLP...there IS a color wheel, the IS a light bulb inside that WILL burn out over time (turn the brightness down a little bit to conserve bulb life), and if DOES have a cooling fan. The wheel motor is not audible when set is on. The fan is not audible when set is on, unless you put your ear near the vent. And the bulb, although seems archaic to change a bulb every year to 3 years, seems a lot easier to change a bulb and retain lossless picture quality while your friends have burned out pixels on plasmas and LCDs have their backlights dim overtime. Those are disposable sets.

Pros: At $229 it's a steal. 25 inches is larger than you might think and the color is vivid and the contrast is great and the resolution is high. It looks so good it makes you want to buy a Blu-ray player!

Cons: The display adjustment controls are clumsy and you often hit the power button by mistake, it's difficult to calibrate to the best settings but once you do it looks fabulous. 16:9 wide screen instead of 16:10, it can look too wide and not tall enough at times however considering the price it is still a steal.

I own the HANNS G -- HH-251HPB. It appears to be the idential monitor with an off brand label. If you are interested in a good low cost monitor, this is it. I would advise also looking for it under the HANNS G label so you have a choice.

I-what? Don't worry this thing is great
So I'd read that these were just debranded HP screens or something like that. One of the major brands product but released by the actual manufacturer (usually a Chinese manufacturer) under a different name (like "I-inc"), something like that. I've loved this thing from the moment I took it out of the box. There were 5 or 6 pixels that were discolored when I first began using it but they all self-fixed over the next week or so ( all but one, way down at the bottom, -you only notice if you look right at it while the screen is black). The screen has a matte finish -so no glare. The resolution is great for hi-def gaming on PS3 and Xbox. The number of connections is kinda lacking (1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 1 3.5mm headphone jack-in, 1 3.5mm headphone jack-out). Why no DVI? I dunno. So if you're purchasing this to have some additional screen real estate for pc gaming or professional design stuff (CS5, Final Cut, etc.) be forewarned that you dont have a native DVI to plug to.

2. Excellent monitor -- Comfortable to use
This is an excellent monitor; I use it with a Mac Mini. I do not like the glossy screens of the iMacs and the Mac Mini is perfect with this monitor which has a superb anti-glare or matte surface. The built in usb ports and headphone jack are nice too.

I only wish that this monitor was available with an integrated webcam. One small downside is that due to the design of the monitor, which has a kind of built-in handle at the center top, in order to attach a Logitech webcam, I had to resort to tape which is inelegant. It looks ok and is not immediately visible but boy, would I pay more for a built-in camera!

Ok I was going to write a long story about how I got here but who really cares.

The bottom line is this unit completely rocks. I compared it to the Sony SXRDs and the JVC 1080P ILAs - both are 1080P displays but will not accept a 1080P signal. The picture is incredible - truely like an 8 megapixel photo in HD. Even Home Theater Mag rated its performace (96) higher than the Sony (94), JVC (92) and all the DLP (< 90) units in its 2/2006 HDTV face off. But remember its a monitor not a TV so you'll need to either have a cable box, sat receiver, computer or external tuner. Actually this is one monitor which you can hook everything up to since it has 5 HD inputs. I've only found one weakness - sometimes when switching between sources it sometimes looses sinc and goes pink - but its easily fixed by switching again to another source and back.

I have had the chance to test out the 37inch westinghouse, 37 Sceptre, 42inch Sceptre and the 42

westinghouse. I bought all these 1080p monitors and kept only 2 of them. Hopefully my experience will help someone to make a right decision about their future purchase..

It was great as a monitor but while watching video it had motion blur due to slower response time

and you could see the video had noise and was not sharp or cleaned up. If you want to buy for monitor only and not to watch video then you can get this unit.

The colors are vibrant and my movies look fantastic (although you become much more aware of the visual defects of lower resolutions movies and DVDs.) Don't get me wrong. Prior to this experience I was one of ViewSonic's number one fans. I have previously worked for an authorized reseller of ViewSonic and have placed literally hundreds of units into service. I've often heard it said, however, that the true measure of a company only comes when you've had the opportunity to see how they support their products. Now that I've had that experience, I'll never buy another one. Here's why:

For Christmas I purchased a VG2427wm monitor for $250. Once it was unwrapped from under the Christmas tree, we were able to use it 3 times prior it failing to detect a signal from any CPU. I contacted support, they confirmed it was defective and despite my request to have the unit replaced with another new unit, I was told my options were to either repair the defective unit or replace it with a refurbished one. I wasn't wild about the refurbished idea so opted for a repair. Unfortunately, on the return trip from ViewSonic, the unit was...

2. Beautiful monitor
This is an amazing clear, precise monitor that I really enjoy. I have always liked the Viewsonic product line and am pretty picky about certain products one of which being the monitor. Since the monitor is one of the things that can really impact the experience you have working with your computer finding the correct one is important. Movies and games look amazing and I like that there are no speakers or extra clutter on the sides of the monitor. This is my second Viewsonic monitor and it's hard to think that I will switch product lines after the A+ experience I have had with both.

A fine montior
This is not the first Viewsonic monitor I have owned, but it certainly confirms to me the reliability and consistency of Viewsonic products. My sole concern before buying was how stable the base was. It is. The other specifications are what I expected and hoped for (unlike the monitor from another manufacturer I had to return for a heavy green cast). Colors are true. Resolution is fine and crisp. Blacks and grays and whites are true. Control keys are conveniently in the center of the lower frame. Menus are straightforward to navigate. Adjustments are self-explanatory and easy to make. The sole feature that's missing is an HDMI connection, but I was aware of that going in. It's a great monitor. The only thing I might (only might) do differently would be to have gotten the pivot model. That said, I'm happy.

I use this with a Canon 5D-2 & 6D. It takes a few seconds for the image to come up but apparently that is caused by the handshake with the camera. Also, you don't get a full 7 inch image bacause the camera uses the edges to display icons. Again, not the fault of the monitor. The build quality, image quality and price of this unit are very good. When you plug in the HDMI cable into a DSLR I recommend a right angle cable be used to reduce the danger of bumping the cable which could damage the electronics of the camera, an Achillies heel. While this unit is very bright indoors, not so much out of doors, even with the hood, but useable and I think that is to be expected. I recommend it and would buy it again.

Great monitor, I like the height (unlike the reviewer below), and as of this writing (5/26/13) Best Buy has this on sale for $319+tax. Save yourself almost %50 if you want to get it. Its a bit annoying this reviewer below, nowhere on the listing does this say you can adjust the height. If you make a substantial dollar purchase w/o doing any research, then complain and write a bad review of the monitor, that is not a fair review of the product. Many monitors (a lot of the newer Dell's for example) are not height adjustable. Where did this product say it was?

2. Decent 27" Monitor For the Price
This a solid buy at $300. I don't know that there's a better 27" on the market.

The stand raises the bottom of the bezel 6" off the desktop. It take a little getting used to but really isn't a big deal. This is of course designed to provide enough clearance in order to swivel the screen 90* to portrait mode. The buttons are well marked and are physical buttons instead of the touch-sensitive style from the past.

There is one con I can't live with with this product and consequently I am actually going to return this product and get the 24" version. Simply put, the resolution of 1920x1080 is inadequate. This is the same resolution as most 24" monitors, and because of this you really don't gain anything in terms of the bigger size. The pixels are just bigger - and text is actually a little fuzzy as a result.

The other issue I had was that I couldn't get the screen to fill out to the bezel. There is a 1" black bar around the perimeter of the screen...

Having used both Elo and Planar touchscreens, I've always found the planar units to be more responsive and to have slightly crisper displays. This new model from Planar's "value series" did not dissapoint. I used it to build a touchscreen kitchen PC and paired it with a VESA100 undercabinet mount from 'Premier Mounts' (also available on amazon) and an old laptop.

THE GOOD:
*Most importantly the planar passes the "wife test" for ease of use.

This is worth the price and i would buy it again. However, it's not the best out there. It's a good price for the color depth you get but when the screen is black i can see some of the LED light leaking in unevenly from the side. I make motion graphics and visual effects, which requires a lot of color correction. I don't have the money for an Eizo or Mac Cinema display so this is a good cheap alternative.

2. Acceptable general-use monitor, but bad color and a little blurry
I just purchased a ZR2440 display. I'm a little disappointed, it's a fine general use monitor but it is a little blurry and color banding is an issue. I bought it hoping it would be comparable to the HP ZR24w but it's not nearly as good.

This monitor looks great and the touch screen works pretty well. Even for a resistive touch screen, it is pretty responsive and doesn't require really hard pressing. The cables and accessories included are great and all are of good quality. The screen resolution looks fantastic and the brightness is very good.

I'm using this for a in-car display and the reason for a 1 star deduction is that the screen does not have auto switching capabilities. Many other screens can switch to another input when a signal is detected, such as over RCA input for a rearview camera. If I knew this ahead of time, I would've purchased a different screen.

I basically use this monitor as a second display for tech support work and netflix, no detailed color work or anything like that. The rotating stand works as advertised, as well as the usb ports. The 90 degree screen rotation is great for reading text. Unfortunately, the backlight makes rippled shadows against light/white images when viewing from a low angle. The speakers are awful, and should not be used unless there is absolutely no other choice.

Let me start off by saying this is an excellent IPS monitor that's good for everyday use like home or office. Don't compare it the top of the line Dell U2711, or similar high priced WQHD (1440p) monitors because those are aimed at graphics connoisseur or photography professionals.

Right out of the box, the picture is outstanding - the colors are accurate, blacks are deep, and text is very sharp and clear - all the way to the edges. This monitor displays the desktop icons that are normal size and easy to see, not tiny like the WQHD (1440p) monitors. Additionally I found no dead or stuck pixels, and couldn't detect any backlight bleeding. I sit 23" away from screen, and I see nothing wrong with doing 1080p on this 27" monitor.

If you want to see a thick plastic frame around the panel, then this monitor is not for you. Unlike most traditional monitors that have a thick plastic outer bezel around the panel, this monitor (IPS277L)uses a very thin black plastic trim as...

Great Monitor for the Price!
This is a great monitor, especially when you factor in price. I see monitors that are triple the price and not better. Some people get confused with the zero bezel. Yes it does have a zero bezel, but the image does not go all the way out to the end of the panel, but it still displays a 27 inch image with a smaller footprint than an averaged monitor that has a half inch bezel. With that said, you are getting a 27 inch display and image with a zero bezel. I am fussy so I did spend a lot of time calibrating it to how I like the image to look. For the price you can't go wrong. It is a great monitor.

1. Good monitor for the price - mislabeled description
this is actually the 663/O/P, not the /P! It DOES have hdmi out which the photos don't show. I was just looking for the /P because I wanted the advanced functions. I guess I'd rather pay less and not have hdmi out since I have no need for it, but that's how it came and I'm not going to exchange it at this point.

The monitor itself is built well - the casing is metal. The screen has good resolution and colors, and is adjustable. I was able to calibrate it fairly well with a Spyder3 colorimeter and then further by comparing to my camera. Keep in mind that this monitor is very cheap for what you get and there are reasons for it. The UI isn't perfect, the buttons don't always respond on first click (not sure if this is a safety precaution?). It takes 5-6 seconds for it to show an image after signal is available. The battery adapters (I'm using Canon batteries) are a little too small so it's really hard to get the battery in there and take it back out.

However,...

1. DVI Dual Link
I bought this when the item was incorrectly listed as having HDMI and display port connectors.
I was able to get a price adjustment from the seller and purchased an "active display port to DVI-D" adapter and was able to get full resolution with no dead pixels.

Note to use this monitor w/ display port, the display port needs to be able to drive 2560x1440.

The monitor does work well but only has brightness controls and can only display in 2560x1440 (it doesn't have scaler hardware).

I did not try the monitor with windows but the EDID reported to Linux was wrong,

I used the following to get the monitor working on linux:

xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_codesim" 241.50 2560 2608 2640 2720 1440 1443 1448 1481 +hsync -vsync
xrandr --addmode DP1 "2560x1440_codesim"
xrandr --output DP1 --left-of LVDS1

DP1 is the name of the display port interface on the laptop and LVDSI is laptop display.

2. It's everything I hoped for.
The page doesn't make it abundantly clear, but in the box are: DVI-D cable, power adapter, and socket adapter.

Pros:
-Not a single dead or stuck pixel for me. Nice shiny black case. It worked just great, and the buttons on the back (I'd heard things about the possible quality) are a nice white rubber that depresses easily.
-The case looks like it might have speakers, but this is the "lite" version, so they are of course not present. The real draw of the lite version, however, is the lack of a glass screen (which is good. There's the risk of something being stuck between the LCD and the glass if it had a screen). It still is a bit glossy, but nothing like glass would be.
-I can't believe I've been living my life in 1080p. 1440 is where it's at.
-This is half the price of a comparable monitor from Apple, Dell, or HP.
-I'm taking this to a lan party in just a few hours and I know I'll be the envy of everyone there.
-The colors are amazing...

i've got a small bright spot near the center of the screen. it's only noticeable against darker backgrounds, but it's still pretty annoying. there's also some bleeding from the top and bottom edges of the screen, but not that bad. all in all, good buy for the price

I have owned this monitor for about a month. I studied a few monitors at J&R and found this to have the picture with the nicest colors on a glossy display. I don't do photo editing as the man below so I can't comment on how accurate the colors are for exact photo editing. However the monitor is VERY adjustable and looks great to me. Their are a LOT of settings to adjust just about any aspect of the picture. And as I said I am not a professional photo/video editor so my opinion is just as an average computer user. I have owned about 7 LCD's and this is by far the nicest. And as long as the resolution is set to 1980 X 1200 you won't have any fuzzyness as described in the review below. I too run OS X on this monitor as well as Vista, and both set to the default resolution nicely and displayed well. 2. Huge Monitor But Colors Not Good for Professionals
I couldn't find a review of this monitor before purchasing it so I figured I would put a brief one together. The monitor looks good physically, very slick and pivots up/down and titles. Its black bezel is shiny and glossy. The bezel is mirror like an some could easily say overly gloss, it has a reflection rate which could be distracting for those sitting near windows and or light sources.

The monitors color calibration software is mediocre. After about an hour of calibration it was impossible to get the red properly corrected. The red is overly intense and bright. I would say it is too bright and intense. Calibration with the HP software was very limited. Also tried to correct the red with the video cards software which in my case is an ATI. No matter how and or what I tried I could not bring the intensity of the red down to an acceptable level without messing up the other colors.

The viewing angle on this monitor allows for about a 2 inch head pan to the right...

Good Monitor but has its flaws
After careful review I purchased this monitor a couple of months ago, and after daily use since then I can say it has its strengths and weaknesses.

First and most important is picture quality, it's a great picture, I have a Samsung 21 inch Syncmaster at work and while this HP isn't quite on par it's very close, lacking only in maybe sharpness. Of course the size is a draw, it's huge, and great for watching movies, etc. The fit and finish of the monitor itself is top notch, it looks great even when turned off. The integrated card reader is cool, works perfectly and the ability to turn the monitor into basically a giant digital picture frame with a dedicated remote is cool, but a little gimmicky imho. A big plus for me was the integrated webcam, it's nice not having another peripheral to hook up and install and the picture quality is good. 1. Love this monitor
I purchased my first Sceptre X246W almost a year ago. I went with a dual monitor setup so I purchased a second X246W about 3 months ago. I could not be happier with these monitors. 3 inputs, great clarity and color saturation is good. I may go to a 4 monitor setup and if I do, I will be purchasing 2 more of these.

I too loved having a big monitor. It went black at 10 months. Shipped it at my expense and had it back under warranty (12 months only) in about 4-6 weeks after dealing with a graceless and grudgingly co-operative customer service dept. Now its toast again at 22 months. My toaster is more reliable. If you go cheap, be sure and buy an extended service plan like that available at Costco or others. I replaced it with a Samsung and have a total of 5 years of coverage under a Costco add-on plan. Also, consider an LED model. The cheaper ones still use CFL lamps that can go out like mine
