IPS277L-BN - LED-Monitor - 68.58cm/27"

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent IPS Monitor for Everday Use
Let me start off by saying this is an excellent IPS monitor that's good for everyday use like home or office. Don't compare it the top of the line Dell U2711, or similar high priced WQHD (1440p) monitors because those are aimed at graphics connoisseur or photography professionals.

Right out of the box, the picture is outstanding - the colors are accurate, blacks are deep, and text is very sharp and clear - all the way to the edges. This monitor displays the desktop icons that are normal size and easy to see, not tiny like the WQHD (1440p) monitors. Additionally I found no dead or stuck pixels, and couldn't detect any backlight bleeding. I sit 23" away from screen, and I see nothing wrong with doing 1080p on this 27" monitor.

If you want to see a thick plastic frame around the panel, then this monitor is not for you. Unlike most traditional monitors that have a thick plastic outer bezel around the panel, this monitor (IPS277L)uses a very thin black plastic trim as...

2. Great for gaming and Web Design
I have three of these monitors setup for PC gaming, and I have to say they are just fantastic. I couldn't be more happy with this investment, my desktop size is 5760x1080 and has perfect coloring...which is important as well because I am a web designer as well.

Great Monitor for the Price!
This is a great monitor, especially when you factor in price. I see monitors that are triple the price and not better. Some people get confused with the zero bezel. Yes it does have a zero bezel, but the image does not go all the way out to the end of the panel, but it still displays a 27 inch image with a smaller footprint than an averaged monitor that has a half inch bezel. With that said, you are getting a 27 inch display and image with a zero bezel. I am fussy so I did spend a lot of time calibrating it to how I like the image to look. For the price you can't go wrong. It is a great monitor.

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Good monitor for the price - mislabeled description
this is actually the 663/O/P, not the /P! It DOES have hdmi out which the photos don't show. I was just looking for the /P because I wanted the advanced functions. I guess I'd rather pay less and not have hdmi out since I have no need for it, but that's how it came and I'm not going to exchange it at this point.

The monitor itself is built well - the casing is metal. The screen has good resolution and colors, and is adjustable. I was able to calibrate it fairly well with a Spyder3 colorimeter and then further by comparing to my camera. Keep in mind that this monitor is very cheap for what you get and there are reasons for it. The UI isn't perfect, the buttons don't always respond on first click (not sure if this is a safety precaution?). It takes 5-6 seconds for it to show an image after signal is available. The battery adapters (I'm using Canon batteries) are a little too small so it's really hard to get the battery in there and take it back out.

However,...

2. freaking awesome!!!!!!
I was very skeptical about buying this but I am so impressed with this monitor. It has everything a small hd monitor has for quarter of the price!!! Great feel, great image and great options!!!!

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. DVI Dual Link
I bought this when the item was incorrectly listed as having HDMI and display port connectors.
I was able to get a price adjustment from the seller and purchased an "active display port to DVI-D" adapter and was able to get full resolution with no dead pixels.

Note to use this monitor w/ display port, the display port needs to be able to drive 2560x1440.

The monitor does work well but only has brightness controls and can only display in 2560x1440 (it doesn't have scaler hardware).

I did not try the monitor with windows but the EDID reported to Linux was wrong,

I used the following to get the monitor working on linux:

xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_codesim" 241.50 2560 2608 2640 2720 1440 1443 1448 1481 +hsync -vsync
xrandr --addmode DP1 "2560x1440_codesim"
xrandr --output DP1 --left-of LVDS1

DP1 is the name of the display port interface on the laptop and LVDSI is laptop display.
Running "xrandr" with...

2. It's everything I hoped for.
The page doesn't make it abundantly clear, but in the box are: DVI-D cable, power adapter, and socket adapter.

Pros:
-Not a single dead or stuck pixel for me. Nice shiny black case. It worked just great, and the buttons on the back (I'd heard things about the possible quality) are a nice white rubber that depresses easily.
-The case looks like it might have speakers, but this is the "lite" version, so they are of course not present. The real draw of the lite version, however, is the lack of a glass screen (which is good. There's the risk of something being stuck between the LCD and the glass if it had a screen). It still is a bit glossy, but nothing like glass would be.
-I can't believe I've been living my life in 1080p. 1440 is where it's at.
-This is half the price of a comparable monitor from Apple, Dell, or HP.
-I'm taking this to a lan party in just a few hours and I know I'll be the envy of everyone there.
-The colors are amazing...

good price, not 100% quality
i've got a small bright spot near the center of the screen. it's only noticeable against darker backgrounds, but it's still pretty annoying. there's also some bleeding from the top and bottom edges of the screen, but not that bad. all in all, good buy for the price

  • Plug and Play capability, if supported by your computer system
  • Video inputs supported - Two HDMI connectors (version 1.2) and DVI-D single-link connector

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent feature rich monitor with gorgeous picture and innovative stand
I have owned this monitor for about a month. I studied a few monitors at J&R and found this to have the picture with the nicest colors on a glossy display. I don't do photo editing as the man below so I can't comment on how accurate the colors are for exact photo editing. However the monitor is VERY adjustable and looks great to me. Their are a LOT of settings to adjust just about any aspect of the picture. And as I said I am not a professional photo/video editor so my opinion is just as an average computer user. I have owned about 7 LCD's and this is by far the nicest. And as long as the resolution is set to 1980 X 1200 you won't have any fuzzyness as described in the review below. I too run OS X on this monitor as well as Vista, and both set to the default resolution nicely and displayed well. I am running OS X on an ATI Radeon 3870 so perhaps the video card could be the difference. All monitors have had a fuzzy look for me in any Windows I have used when not set to the...

2. Huge Monitor But Colors Not Good for Professionals
I couldn't find a review of this monitor before purchasing it so I figured I would put a brief one together. The monitor looks good physically, very slick and pivots up/down and titles. Its black bezel is shiny and glossy. The bezel is mirror like an some could easily say overly gloss, it has a reflection rate which could be distracting for those sitting near windows and or light sources.

The monitors color calibration software is mediocre. After about an hour of calibration it was impossible to get the red properly corrected. The red is overly intense and bright. I would say it is too bright and intense. Calibration with the HP software was very limited. Also tried to correct the red with the video cards software which in my case is an ATI. No matter how and or what I tried I could not bring the intensity of the red down to an acceptable level without messing up the other colors.

The viewing angle on this monitor allows for about a 2 inch head pan to the right...

Good Monitor but has its flaws
After careful review I purchased this monitor a couple of months ago, and after daily use since then I can say it has its strengths and weaknesses.

First and most important is picture quality, it's a great picture, I have a Samsung 21 inch Syncmaster at work and while this HP isn't quite on par it's very close, lacking only in maybe sharpness. Of course the size is a draw, it's huge, and great for watching movies, etc. The fit and finish of the monitor itself is top notch, it looks great even when turned off. The integrated card reader is cool, works perfectly and the ability to turn the monitor into basically a giant digital picture frame with a dedicated remote is cool, but a little gimmicky imho. A big plus for me was the integrated webcam, it's nice not having another peripheral to hook up and install and the picture quality is good. Another great feature is the work light underneath the monitor bezel, it has three brightness settings and casts a warm light over...

Industry-impressive 40,000:1 contrast ratio and ultra fast 2ms response time for a realistic and superb PC experience with our X246W-1080P 24" LCD Monitor. This stylish and sleek monitor features 1080P for a clearer and sharper image for an astonishing PC experience.
  • High Contrast Ratio 40000:1
  • Response Time: 2 ms
  • 1920x1080
  • LCD Gaming Monitor
  • 1xHDMI Input

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love this monitor
I purchased my first Sceptre X246W almost a year ago. I went with a dual monitor setup so I purchased a second X246W about 3 months ago. I could not be happier with these monitors. 3 inputs, great clarity and color saturation is good. I may go to a 4 monitor setup and if I do, I will be purchasing 2 more of these.

2. POS
I too loved having a big monitor. It went black at 10 months. Shipped it at my expense and had it back under warranty (12 months only) in about 4-6 weeks after dealing with a graceless and grudgingly co-operative customer service dept. Now its toast again at 22 months. My toaster is more reliable. If you go cheap, be sure and buy an extended service plan like that available at Costco or others. I replaced it with a Samsung and have a total of 5 years of coverage under a Costco add-on plan. Also, consider an LED model. The cheaper ones still use CFL lamps that can go out like mine

  • Digital Noise Reduction for all inputs + PC, USB

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great for smaller apartments and secondary TV
The point of this TV is to provide exceptional picture quality and a relatively decent form factor at an affordable price. In that respect this one meets and exceeds design specs.

What I love is the display quality: vivid colors and smooth action make every movie and program lifelike. The sound is also more than adequate, which is a plus because it's difficult to connect this TV to a lower end sound system. More about that below.

I've used this as a monitor and the display from a Windows XP laptop is usable, but not the same definition as a dedicated monitor. Of course what this lacks in that department it more than makes up in screen real estate. The connections on the side of the monitor are on the left as you face it and computers connect via a VGA cable for the video and a 3.5mm audio cable.

For connecting other devices this has a rich array of inputs:

- two HDMI ports (I have a Chromecast and Roku connected).
- is a component in...

  • Unparalleled image quality
  • 2 in 1 HDTV monitor combo
  • Internet connected apps
  • 3D ready .

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great HDTV 3D Monitor - Not so great for computer usage
This is a great 3D monitor. Samsung has really got it down on the monitors it makes.
The images are clear and colorful. 3D is totally fun watching.
It is glossy (which can be annoying unless you position it correctly).
I had bought this hoping I could use it as both my TV and monitor.

It being more expensive, I thought, it would include all the features of the LED computer version as well. Boy was I wrong.

This screen does not include a display port at the back panel, so the only options was either HDMI or (HDMI to DVI) to my computer. Because of this, I could not use the monitor at 120hz on the computer. And games in 3D on the computer would max out at only 24 FPS - HDMI limit (which is really bad for any game... Only thing I could do was really watch 3D movies on it (which looked GREAT) without any problems.

I really wished Samsung was more detailed on their product description to let us know the capabilities and limitations of this...

2. Excellent montior
I have had this screen for nearly a year now. It has excellent viewing angles and is bright enough for any room in my place. I use it for my desktop (DP) and my PS3 (HDMI). The 3D works very well with both devices. No ghosting in games. I get compliments from everyone who sees it.

One of the worst monitor I've own.
This monitor arrive with a dead back light but that's not why I gave it a low rating. I notice a lot bad things about this monitor then good things.
First, the screen was extremely glossy. I've never own a monitor this glossy until this one, but it seems that, that's the way everyone is going these days. Its sad. I seriously could place this monitor anywhere there's some sort of sun light coming through because the glare is so bad for me that I can't enjoy watching anything on this monitor.
Adjustability of this monitor was limited so that was bad for me. I could not tilt this monitor far enough up or down. Its like I could only adjust it around 10 degrees up and down. What was the point of even making it like that if they won't let us adjust it far enough for our comfort. They might as well take out the whole adjustable thing because it pointless.
Controls were another big issue for this monitor. I don't know how many people out there loves touch sensitive...

Very Nice Display
This Toshiba display is of typical Toshiba quality...very good! The stand and bezel are reasonably sturdy. The base does sit low on your desk...I wouldn't mind if it were a couple inches taller but who cares really. Picture quality is excellent...typical LED in that the colors lean towards the cooler side which I prefer. Contrast and brightness settings go higher than I need (years past you would always be looking for more than a given display could provide). Sharpness is excellent. it has a fare amount of adjustable for individual additive colors along with some preset programs for easier setup. It interfaced with my HDMI laptop out port easily. I have not run any high def video on it so cannot comment on refresh rates/action image quality. It will use if for website design, data base management, typical MS docs etc.

Item description needs improvement
I had an HP w2408 that I loved loved loved - but 2 weeks before the warranty expired a string of pixels across the middle of the screen died... followed by a bigger white spot... I guess it cost too much to fix so I received a full refund from the warranty company and had to ship the monitor back... then I went in search of another LCD monitor to replace it. I ordered this -- 25" Full HD LCD Monitor -- thinking I was getting the HP 2509 with 2 USB ports, and hoping the color would be as good as the w2408, and assumed the screen size would be an inch larger than my 24" w2408... wrong! The color wasn't as brilliant and rich, the screen size was actually an inch less in height (huh?), and there were no USB ports. Puzzled, I went to research again -- did I miss something?! Only when I watched a video on YouTube of the "HP 2509" did I discover there's an HP 2509b and a 2509p -- and only the "p" has the USB ports -- the monitor being reviewed here is the USB-less "b" model -- well,...

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Impressive TV/ Monitor
First I must say this monitor is a looker, it is very thin with an artistic design that keeps all of the connections and features you want while looking great at the same time.

Picture quality is very crisp and the back light is consistent across the whole screen making the color reproduction and consistency very good. With a 2ms response time games and video are both clear and crisp even under heavy action scenes. For the gamers reading this there is little to no screen tearing.

The 3D features on this monitor work very well. I have tried it through a PS3, on the PC with movies and also on the PC with video games. The 3D effect was not choppy or straining on the eyes over prolonged use. The glasses are a little bulky though and I wish the manufacturer had provided one of their slimmer lightweight pairs with a premium unit like this. It must be stressed though that when using 3D make sure to use a quality video card, receiver if you are using one and cables. If...

2. Pricey, but feature-rich and options galore.
The Samsung T27A950 has had a slow transition from CES to retail availability. Touted as a flagship monitor, I was surprised at how little information was readily available from Samsung and third parties.

At MSRP, this product is really hard to recommend, but like all leading-edge technology, prices drop off a bit over time. Even then, the value of the monitor is really up to if you really need the plethora of features that it offers.

This monitor is almost fully-loaded with everything you can think of feature-wise. SmartHub has been cloned straight off of Samsung's higher-end HDTVs, although it's value can be overlooked considering you'll most likely have a computer nearby most of the time. Regardless, the implementation is what you would expect. Menus are logically laid out and have pretty much any adjustment you can think of to adjust picture quality, sound quality, and what ever else you would like to fine-tune on the monitor. Anynet+ is actually pretty cool:...

Undeniable design, gorgeous experience
This monitor blew my mind away, right out of the box. It's just such a looker. I must say though, if you are looking for a 3D experience, look elsewhere. The 3D on this monitor is not that spectacular. On the other hand, if you are looking for a sexy showpiece that works very well as a 2D TV and monitor, look no further. This is the coolest addition to any dorm room (where I use mine).

A unique feature that I love about this monitor is that it has the ability to have different settings watching the source is an AV/TV vs. a PC source. The viewing requirements and settings of a TV monitor and a PC monitor is different. Thus, this feature allows this monitor to be truly hybrid.

I'm not a gaming or TV enthusiast, so screen quality doesn't bother me that much. However, if you looking for a true 120Hz PC monitor. You should be looking at the Samsung S27A950 instead. This model, the T27A950, only runs at 60Hz. Additionally, the resolution on this monitor is not as high...

  • 23-Inch Diagonal Screen; 16:9 Aspect Ratio; 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution
  • 5 ms On/Off Response Time; 300 nits of Brightness; 15,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
  • Anti-glare Panel
  • No Built-in Speakers, great option for two monitor setup; VESA 100mm x 100mm screw-mounting option
  • 1 VGA port; 1 DVI-D (with HDCP) port

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. a low profile monitor
I agreed with the other reviewers that the small character appears a little ghosting. Moreover, I observed some greenish and pinkish on the text characters. The color is just not right. The monitor is not well constructed as Hp 20** series. The stand was built using cheap plastic. The monitor wobbled on my desk. All in all, I cant stand the greenish text. So I returned the product. I think this is the worst HP monitor that I ever used.

2. Large screen at reasonable price
Just purchased and used for 3 hours, mostly on spreadsheets. Love the 23" screen. On smaller text, ghosting was a problem, but went into monitor adjustments and was able to reduce most of it. Good deal for price and my intended usage.

excellent image quality and easy to customize display
I'm very pleased with this monitor. Like all monitors of this type, the best image quality is produced in its native display resolution; I found this one wonderfully sharp at 1920x1080. I didn't even have to install any software or change any Windows settings when using this to replace a Dell monitor that had failed.

For people with special visual needs, or even those who simply like to fine tune the display to suit their taste, the clear and easy-to-use menus allow detailed adjustment of brightness, contrast, sharpness, tint and more. The factory settings were too bright for me, but it was easy to tone them down. So many LCD monitors display more dimly at the top than bottom, but this one does not suffer from that problem, and instead provides a highly uniform brightness and contrast.

The factory settings yielded a slightly red tinted image, but that also was easy to tweak via the menu's independent adjustments for Red, Green and Blue level. The front panel...

  • Compatible with Blu Ray, Xbox 360 (with HDMI connection) and Sony PlayStation 3
  • Full-HD 1080p - 1920 x 1200 Resolution, 10000:1 Dynamic Contrast

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great!
This display is excellent! Not only can I hook up my Macbook Pro, but I can also have my 360 plugged in at the same time for 1080p gaming glory! Color and contrast are great in my opinion, and I love the fact that I can adjust it however I need to, so when I slouch I can still see the screen. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the touch controls that everyone else mentions. They are impossible to see without direct light, however, once you get the settings right, it's easy to memorize where the power and volume buttons are. Great display at a great price!

2. Absolutely Amazing.
There is a TON you could write about this monitor...but for the sake of endless paragraphs I will sum it up like this: this monitor is absolutely dollar for dollar the best monitor on the market right now (remember...technology changes quickly), and it's built for the future with HDMI & D-Sub. The picture simply can't be put into words - it's absolutely beautiful. Bright (but doesn't burn your cornea's), clear & rich. Motion, even during the fastest scenes of a movie or game (again remember....some of this has to do with your own pc & it's video card and processor) is FLAWLESS.

Net net is that you get a monitor that delivers the performance, looks & reliability of a super high end monitor for a mid range price. Stand is flexible in multiple ways, including the ability to be raised and lowered (do NOT underestimate that, most monitors don't allow for that). If you're in the market for a top end monitor from the leader in LCD's (Viewsonic / Nokia etc would be in the CRT...

Great monitor for its price and overall
I bought this item from BB on sale for $450 (also managed to get them to give me 10% off with a coupon that didn't specify monitors). I love amazon and bought my Samsung TV from them (no one could touch their price) but with monitors and hearing about so many dead pixel issues, I like buying from the store (have had 2 LCDs and never had a dead pixel though). This monitor blows away my old Sony 19 inch LCD, which only had a 500-1 contrast but the same brightness (and it cost $550 when I bought it). If you are looking to upgrade from a 19 inch non 16-10 ration screen, a 22 inch just isn't that big of an upgrade, go with a 24 inch, you will not regret it. This monitor is super bright which is great for games, but a little too bright for regular activities (just needs to be tuned down). No ghosting in any of the games I have played and no blurred text issues, great out of the box. Software doesn't really work with Vista 64 though (monitor still works fine). any adjustment you can...

Dell 3007WFP-HC 30-Inch LCD Widescreen Monitor

Cheapest Dell 3007WFP-HC 30-Inch LCD Widescreen Monitor

Go big or go home. The Dell 30-inch widescreen monitor is a visual wonder, boasting a fast response time, high contrast ratio and ultra-high resolution. Color and detail have never looked better or bigger thanks to the brilliantly bright display and Dell’s UltraSharpTM  technology. There are plenty of reasons why Dell is America’s #1 source for flat-panel displays – the 3007WFP-HC is one more. To fully utilize your new 3007WFP-HC monitor and enjoy the ultra-high resolution settings, your ...
  • Large 30" viewing screen
  • Sharp 2560 x 1600 Resolution
  • 178:178 viewing angle
  • DVI-D (Dual Link) with HDCP
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. I love it.
It's big, bright, fast, beautiful and did I mention it's big? I mean two side-by-side magnified A4 documents big. The $1100 price is great too compared to other 30" models.

The reason why this monitor is considered obsolete by Dell is the complaints from videophiles about its lack of connectivity options. Specifically, dual-link DVI is the only way in. So, if you are planning on connecting game machines or BlueRay drives or HD cable boxes via HDMI, you are out of luck. But, why would you want to do that? Even full HD video only goes up to 1920x1080. This monitor does 2560x1600. It makes a lot more sense to pay $800 for a 42" 1080p LCD TV, which is bigger and better for viewing video anyway. This is an ultra-high-resolution monitor, pure and simple, and I love it for doing a good job there.

2. Better than expected
I bought this monitor as soon as I upgraded my computer. I'm currently using a ATI HD 5850 video card, so the 2560x1600 resolution is amazing. The main reason I went with this monitor was the IPS panel and the 16:10 ratio, which I prefer to the 27" 16:9. With something this big, you really need an IPS panel or you'll have some serious color problems on the sides. The 16:10 ratio means you get more space for toolbars on the top and bottom of your screen, but there will be some black bars on the top and bottom if your playing a standard DVD.

I have a blu-ray player in this computer, and it's just stunning to see the quality on this large screen. The first blu-ray I bought was Chronos, also available on amazon, and it's just incredible. If you look really closely, you don't see the pixels of the screen, you see the texture of the film! Simply awesome.

I do some graphics work but mostly 3d animation, so my main concern is size(for manipulating objects) over...

Still Best in Class
I agree with the other reviewer in that this 30" is the leader in its class of IPS panel with gorgeous resolution and yet affordable price. Connectivity is hardly an issue if you intend to use it at its native 2560x1600 (why would anyone use any lower res). Apple has stopped making 30" Cinema so even the double priced alternate is gone. Get this one, you won't regret it.

Cons: No DVI port, No USB ports, No VESA mounts, only til's back 15% All Glossy finish, (Gamer's) 120hz ONLY on (DP) Display Port, If your video card has mini DP, you may want to buy (mini) DP to DP cable like I did, because I wanted a HI-quality v1.2 DP cable, NO adapters for FULL bandwidth and NO loss (just being picky) for HDMI cable I recommend v1.4 or better for deep color depth, Also..install DP/hdmi drivers from disk 1st, then go to Samsung.com and update your monitor drivers restart, and adjust your rez. also.. if you run 64 bit win7, you cant open owners manual to read specs on disc, just go to Samsung.com to view and print

2. A gamers perspective: I went from IPS to this TN panel and am very happy...
My Spec: CPU: i7 920 OC 3.8ghz, RAM 12gb 1600, 2x 5870 in crossfire

FOR 2D: This is the best TN (maybe best out to date even compared to IPS) out there! - for gaming
After a lot of research I decided to go from a Apple Cinema Display 30 2560x1600 to this Samsung S27A750D 27 inch. To Be Honest: I didn't even look back, 120hz for gaming is something that you don't know your missing until you get it then when you get it you can never EVER go back. I was worried about the color loss going from IPS to TN but, this monitors color is simply outstanding. Best I have ever seen in a TN display. Even comparing to IPS this has deep colors that hold up next to IPS and even in the case of the Blues and Green are even deeper than the IPS panel. I was also worried about the loss of resolution going from 1600p to 1080p, and while I did miss the "real estate" on my desktop, I must say in games with all the great ways to do AA now a days you can't even tell the resolution...

An actual review from a tech enthusiast
Summary:

Pros:
-120Hz 2D (SMOOTH)
-3D is great, full 1080p, and no shutter issues
-Build Quality
-Bright, colorful, clear
-Comes with Tridef software

Cons:
-None as of now

This monitor is for people:

-Have Nvidia who want 120Hz and have a display port (rare)
-Have AMD GPU and want 3D and 120Hz (if you have a supported AMD card)

This monitor is NOT for people:

-Who intend to use 3D vision (some say there are hacks to make it work but IDK)
-Who do not have DP outputs
-Who have an outdated Video card

To fully utilize this monitor, you should have a display port. The only other input (HDMI) will not grant you 120Hz. Assuming you are like me (have a display port out or mini DP) and have a newer AMD GPU, you would be enthusiastic about owning a monitor like this. Let me give you my full first impressions.

Review:

The package was well packed...

Pros: It is an amazingly great monitor, perfect picture and quick response time + it's LED. In addition, it has a wide view angles.
Cons: It is not adjustable in any direction + no wall mounting ability.
Anyway - still 5 stars for the picture, because even at 45 degrees angle - it's a same amazing picture. probably it doesn't need to be adjusted...
Warning: It's very light, cat could easily drop it.

Excellent monitor (3rd one I've bought)
I bought this monitor to round out my 3-monitor computer setup. I am a code developer and really like the screen real estate afforded by using three monitors side-by-side. I'd purchased the first two monitors (also Samsung BX2331) when I bought the computer in 4Q2010. The store didn't have a third at that time so I've been waiting to add it. This finishes off the set very nicely since they all match perfectly. That's important when setting up a multi-monitor configuration - you want them all to be the same height off the desk and the same resolution. Makes it easier to work with in the long run.

I use only the HDMI inputs at 1080p (1920x1080); I can't speak to the quality of the image using other inputs. They all look identical and gorgeous.

I also use the center monitor for my PS3 - I just use the second HDMI input for the incoming signal to the monitor and then take the audio out from the monitor to my computer speakers. Works great! That way, when I'm kind of...

I'll use the ASUS box for a suitcase sometime in the future--it's that good. The Splendid feature is a gimick, but a feature none the less. Black is not very deep, but colors and vividness are strong. Cost makes this a sweet display.

2. Great product for a great price!
This is a great monitor for the price. It's easy to install and has a terrific resolution. Fits perfectly in the small diagonal corner I have available.

As far as I am concerned ASUS is the top of its field
I have always had either a Sony or Samsung monitor until my I decided to buy an ASUS for a new computer a couple of years ago. I found Sony breaks more often and switched to Samsung which seem to never die. I still have a Samsung monitor running strong without a glitch that is either 6 or 7 years old. But the ASUS has better resolution and easier adjustment for height as well as for tuning. So when I bought my daughter the computer I naturally purchased this screen to go with it. I am not disappointed with any aspect of this monitor.

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. WOW!!!!
I'm a photojournalist working for a daily newspaper in New York. I write this review with almost 20 years of experience as a photojournalist and now a video journalist.

I've always loved the quality of the video of the Canon 5D MarkII and even the 7D. Shooting can be challenging, the camera's screen is small.

I just got the monitor in the mail, attached it to the camera, (still haven't read the user guide) and started playing.

All lI can say so far is WOW!

This is going to make shooting video MUCH easier, faster, and BETTER. the focus peaking is very helpful, the exposure peaking is great. Overall, I'm not sure how I lived without it this far.

If I have any complaint it's about the little ball head that they give you to attach the monitor to the camera. I'll probably replace it with something a little stronger.

Other then that, WOW, it's really a game changer for video.

As I use it I'll post an update about...

2. Returned it
I've read about Lilliput monitors and the reviews are always glowing. I just felt that this was an OK monitor. First off, although the product description seemed to indicate that there was an HDMI out as well as an in, there was only an in, that was enough for me to return it right there.
- In addition, if you're planning on using this with a Juiced Link or Beachtek as a way to monitor live sound out of a 5Dmark II via HDMI, don't bother, it doesn't work and the 5D doesn't put out sound via HDMI when recording (unless using ML)
- The reason I didn't get another one was that the 7" size is too large to really run and gun with effectively, it limits your ability to move. This isn't a shortage for the mount, it's just the monitor is so big it's like a sail.
- Another reason is that the color of the monitor isn't just too inaccurate to judge color by, it's downright ugly, and it doesn't appear to be something that could be calibrated away.
I can definitely see...

Lilliput Monitor for HDMI monitoring. Worked on Nikon D800 and Sony FS100
I read the prior reviews for this monitor, and because of the overall thickness of the monitor vs some of the other lilliput models, I settled on this. I have a Sony FS100 and a Nikon D800. It worked wonderfully on both cameras. Apparently, you have to turn off the 5d-II button and aspect button to get rid of the odd cropping observed in one of the other buyers review. There is a bit of scaling when used with the Nikon D800. This is due to the the aperture, shutter, ISO lower bar that is shown on the DSLR live view LCD. With this bar included in the Lilliput LCD view, the aspect changes from 16:9, and black space has to now be apparent on both sides of the LCD. The FS100 used the full screen perfectly. The peaking function also works just about as good as i've seen peaking function on any of sony's prosumer and high end super 35 cinema cameras. F3,FS100,EX1. The battery plate does fall off easily if jarred with a heavy battery. Color rendition cannot exactly be modified...

Took a lot of time, resources, and patience to calibrate
Usual deficiencies of TN panels which I won't rehash
No direct input buttons; have to dive into the menus to change inputs
Stated 68% color gamut
Inputs are in the base
Shipping packaging had me worried

This is my first home LCD and is replacing a 17 inch CRT; I still have it and will dual-display them to compare side by side. Also, I...

2. Pretty nice!
I went from a 19" full screen to this. While this is definitely wider (by a lot), the height is about the same so at first it doesn't seem like a lot more screen real estate. If you have never used a 24" before and are afraid it will look too massive, don't worry. I had the same fears, but it looks pretty nice sitting on my desk, not too big but big enough to make people a little envious.

The colors are pretty good right out of the box. It could use a little tweaking, but it's not so bad that I can't enjoy it the way it is.

I like the base, I wish it had a mount option, but since there isn't one, I am glad it's not bad looking. I can't comment on the speaker, because I never will use it. The menu options are a little weird to use at first, but they are fairly simple and easy to get used to.

The screen is nice and bright, and mine had no dead pixels on delivery.

Amazon packaging was a little iffy like already mentioned, but acer did a nice...

Best monitor I ever owned
I am an extremely experienced computer user. In my home I have two servers, five desktop computers, and six different monitors. I spend 8-12 hours a day on a computer and often have eyestrain by the end of the night. As a result I am always looking for a better monitor. This LED monitor is fantastic!!! I bought mine a few months ago and after just a week I noticed that my eyes felt better at night. Image clarity is great (I do a lot of work in PhotoShop with 18MB RAW image files and noticed the difference immediately). I also see a difference when surfing the web or using Microsoft Office applications. All my future monitors will be LED.

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Whats not to like?!
Only had this for a short time, but I cant think of anything I would change, great screen, nice keyboard, light weight, not too much 'trailware". The device manager says its has a broadcom wi-fi card, and a Hitachi hard drive, so the components I can see look great, full W7 OS. I got the AO722-0472, which has the 2GB of memory, I ordered the 4GB off amazon for $23, (so I guess there is something I would change) I got free shipping and no sales tax, sold by Amazon. So far so good. I have heard ACER tech support is poor, so I will just keep my fingers crossed on that. Will post an update in a few months.

2. Several hard drive fails, trackpad malfunctions...in 1 month
Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 11.6-Inch HD Netbook (Espresso Black)
Purchased 9 of them in February for use in LEGO Mindstorms robotics workshops that started in March. On the first day of use, 1 of the hard drives crashed (Error message: No boot device found, check cable connection).

On the 2nd day of use, another hard drive crashed....same error message.
Contacted ACER customer service who confirmed the hard drive crash and sent Fedex labels so we could mail them in.

On the 4th day of use, another hard drive crashed....same error message....and then the trackpad stops working on another machine. We sent emails to management of ACER but they did not respond.

On the 6th day of use, another hard drive crashed....same error message.

So of 9 ACER netbooks purchased, 5 of them have required repair in less than a month of use. All these malfunctions have happened in...

One Dead and One Less Than Perfect
After some research, I thought that the Acer Aspire One seemed to offer good value for what I wanted, which was primarily a fairly light and small travel computer. I ordered from the road and, through the wonders of Amazon Prime, I had the computer the day after I returned home. My enthusiasm upon turning the computer on was quickly tempered when I was greeted with the Black Screen of Death. I immediately called Acer support (the term "support" is used loosely here) and we went through the usual drill of turn the computer off and then on; take the battery out and put it back in; and so on. The representative then said I should mail the computer back to them. I inquired what the turn-around would be and was told two to three weeks. I thanked him and said I would check with Amazon first. After describing the situation to the Amazon rep., she couldn't have been more helpful. She said she would send me a replacement under Prime and I had the replacement two days later.

So far,...

  • 5 ms On/Off response times (typical)
  • 400 nits brightness
  • 30,000 Dynamic Contrast Ratio

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. It's a great television, okay computer monitor
The 2709m is a huge display ... but know what's it best suited for before you buy it. With a 1920x1080 resolution on a 27" screen, you need to be sitting back pretty far from this (ie: more than a typical desk offers in terms of real estate). So, if you are looking for a display to connect to a PC that you're using mainly for multimedia or gaming and can sit more than a couple of feet back, this is not a bad choice. If you intend to use this as your everyday monitor in the traditional sense (ie: sitting it on a desk a foot or two away from you, connected to a PC for editing word processing documents or emails), then this is not your monitor unless you have vision problems and really need that big of an image that close. If you want a traditional monitor, select a smaller version of the same monitor. 1920x1080 is fine up to about 24" sitting right in front of you. Beyond the 24" size, you really need to step up the resolution. Note that 30" monitors dish up 2560x1600 resolution...

2. Great Monitor - Wrong VESA wall mount Specs
Monitor is great, especially for the price. Excellent Size, Colors, Brightness, response time and Blacks. Some may say its too bright but its easily adjusted.
Glare may be an issue for Some, I prefer the glossy screen because it makes everything look better, The drawback is occasional glare.

The HDMI port supports audio and works well with my cable box - Built in Speakers are adequate, they do not get very loud.

Ambient light sensor is another plus, it automatically adjusts the brightness to your environment.

NOTE for People looking to wall mount the monitor with 100mm Vesa mount. My 2709 came with 200x100mm mounting holes, not the 100x100 that the specs detail, I got a adapter that worked with some modification. HP is investigating the error and sent me a $20 gift card for the mistake.

HP 2709m....I LOVE IT!
This is my first Amazon review, yet I have used my fellow Amazon user's reviews so frequently in the years past, I feel compelled to start contributing!

I have only had this monitor for 1 day, so feel a little premature writing this. However, I will certainly come back and edit it this if anything changes my perception. The monitor was purchased via Amazon, I'm an Amazon Prime member so used one day delivery for $4. For whatever reason, it took 2 days, but I'm not complaining...works for me (2 day shipping was projecting 3 days delivery). Delivery was via Fedex, and the box was in fine condition (a few nicks here and there, but nothing to get excited about).

Background:

I used to keep my computer on the absolute cutting edge of technology.....6 or 7 years ago that is. Life has changed, Marriage, 2 kids, time and $$$ traditionally used on my computer have since been re-allocated. I used to play some games on it, but like everything else, my uses...

  • 100,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
  • Stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound? VESA mountable design
  • 4:3/widescreen auto aspect ratio adjustment

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great monitor at the right size - used as secondary monitor
Screen is quite crisp and the 1920x1080 resolution looks sharp on this 22" screen. I've had this one and the Acer T230 - DEFINITELY go with this one, hands down.

I use as a secondary monitor. NOTE: you have to go into Tablet PC Settings in Control Panel to set it up to work as a secondary screen. I didn't know this when I originally set up, couldn't get it working and returned my first monitor I bought. Thought it was ViewSonic's driver problem. Later I discovered it's built-in to Win 7 and you just have to configure it (Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings > Display > Setup). No thanks to the manual or ViewSonic's tech support (said it wasn't supported).

2. Great start for a new technology.
in terms of a "monitor" It has very good, well lit, and crisp display, very fast and efficient refresh (which is especially impressive considering it also integrates a touch matrix into the screen) great color, and 1080p, seriously watching blu-rays and playing PS3 are an absolute pleasure on this thing. It also has an impressively wide veiwing angle.
The touch screen is very responsive (if your computer has at least "modernish" hardware), and like everything else, works great with Windows 7, that said it also has a very restrictive swivel design, which could make using the touchscreen feel pretty awkward.
It doesn't have an HDMI input, but it does have a DVI input (same quality, just no sound(which on this monitor isnt the worst thing)), and HDMI to DVI cable is the price same as a regular HDMI cable anyway.
The speakers are straight up crap. That said, if your willing to spend 300+ dollars on a monitor with a screen larger than some midsized TVs, than you might as...

Touchscreen monitor
I bought this monitor to see how it would work with a couple of applications I use. I played with the iPad before and had set it up to use remote desktop services to access my Windows desktop. The iPad was too small to properly utilize the programs so I thought a larger touchscreen might work well.. What I found is that when using a touchscreen on a smart phone or an iPad that you are basically holding in your lap works well however, when you are using a touchscreen monitor, that is on the desk or the wall, there is a tremendous amount of our movement of your arm when compared to simply using a mouse. After working with it for a few days I realized it would not meet my needs so I returned it. It does function very well but, for a stationary display, but for utilizing standard Windows programs and keyboard input, a mouse seems to be a more efficient input method. JMHO

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Excellent all-purpose monitor
I rated this 5 stars for the quality of these monitors. After using the Dell 2007WFP and Samsung 204B for many years it was time for me to upgrade to a better monitor. I've done a lot of research on different monitors and the quality of these monitors are outstanding. I use it primarily for photo editing and gaming. After using color correction tools and comparing the photo from the printouts and digital photos on the monitor, the colors are very accurate.

I bought two of these monitors and I am very pleased to own them.

The good:
-Large 24" screen.
-Full 1080p with rich and vibrant colors.
-Good response time.
-High contrast ratio.
-Fully customizable controls to accurately color correct your monitor or needs.

The bad:
-Ports in the back of the monitor are hard to view once the stand is assembled in the monitor.
-Blinking blue light when monitor is on standby can be a bit annoying.
-Stand is a bit flimsy and...

2. TN monitor offers good value, muted brightness, some quirks
This is a good value for a large LCD, with a fast response time, somewhat weak backlight, the typical limitations of a TN-style panel, and also some minor quirks.

The backlight is notably less bright than the one in my previous Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22-inch LCD Monitor, meaning I run the LCD closer to 100% brightness much of the time. On my old Samsung, that would have been blinding, but here it's necessary. Backlight bleed-through is visible as typical for a TN, but less than most similar LCDS: only noticeable in the very top center-third of the screen when the display is set to solid black.

Color reproduction seems reasonable-- next to my more expensive PVA-type Dell 2408WFP UltraSharp 24-inch Widescreen + High Definition Flat Panel Monitor, the Samsung's colors are washed out and drab, but normal for a TN. I...

Good value with a few drawbacks
I purchased this monitor after using a pair of Dell Ultrasharp 20" monitors for several years. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. The 2494 is a very good value and has a nice, sharp picture with more than enough brightness to spare (I had to dial mine down some).

There are a couple of notable drawbacks though.

- The included stand is far too short with no height adjustment. Unless you want to be looking down at your monitor all the time you'll either need a VESA mount or some type of riser.

- The screen itself is matte (bravo!) but the bezel is a super glossy black. This means that if you have much light behind your viewing position you'll be getting some reflection and glare from the bezel. It's not quite a dealbreaker for me considering the monitor's overall value but it's very annoying to have glare coming from the monitor bezel. I don't get this obsession that monitor manufacturers seem to have lately with glossy "piano black" cases. They're not...

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Viewsonic VA2231W-LED
I ordered this monitor with 2 day shipping and got it the day after I ordered it... outstanding! Now the first thing you should know is that this monitor does NOT have built in speakers as it is represented here by Amazon. Not a big deal to me since I use a surround sound system and have no use for monitor mounted speakers, but for those of you who are counting on it having speakers... be aware of this. I would knock off a star for this mis-representation of the product, but it is not the fault of the product. Considering how beautiful the picture on this monitor is, I can't in good conscience give it anything but 5 stars. Incredibly vivid display. It is a very bright display... I had to drop brightness to 25% to get it to my liking. HD video looks incredible on this monitor, and my games look awesome! Controls are easy to work with and the power light is not irritating as on some monitors. I am very pleased with it's performance.

2. Excellent!
This monitor is awesome, looks absolutely gorgeous. The only fault is that it didn't come with a DVI cable, but since I was upgrading from an old 19" 4:3 LCD that had DVI, this wasn't a problem for me. Also worth noting is there is no HDMI hookup either, but if all you're looking for is a well-priced monitor for your computer, you'll be hard pressed to find a better buy.

Awesome Screen
If you are hesitating on getting this screen....do not. My wife was skeptical at first, and maybe i was too, but we absolutely love this screen. I have Windows 7 hooked up to it and it makes doing my college homework so much easier than the 19inch i had before.

  • Full 1080P HD with HDMI
  • Ring Stand with Ergo Fit II Technology enables Easy Tilt and Swivel
  • LED Touch Sensor Buttons

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love it
I have zero complaints about this monitor. The image is crisp and clear, and the brightness is excellent. I did not have to adjust anything, it just looked good right out of the box.

Even though Asus does not provide a monitor profile (or driver) for this monitor, I did not experience any issues with Windows 7 not filling the screen like one previous reviewer. I also have not detected any of the "back light bleed" that another reviewer mentioned.

The unique style of this monitor looks great on my desk. I have read some other reviews on other sites that criticized the stand as being "flimsy" or "shaky" and also as difficult to assemble. My own experience was completely opposite. The stand is constructed on sturdy metal - not plastic. I found it easy to assemble without any tools. The monitor is not unstable or shaky in the least. The stand allows the monitor to easily swivel and tilt to your preferred angle.

2. Very Happy with this Monitor
Was originally going to purchase another brand at over $100 more than this but decided to give Asus a try. I'm not sorry that I did. Monitor arrived well boxed and in excellent condition. There were no dead or stuck on pixels.

Pros:

Text display is outstanding, best I've seen so far.

Monitor Stand is easily put together and works flawlessly in tilt and swivel. It keeps the monitor very stable.

Large range of display adjustments.

Windows 7 shows monitor as Generic plug and play, but sets monitor default correctly at 1920 X 1080. No extra drivers are required.

Cons:

I didn't like any of the preset display modes. This is very objective of course and I'm sure most people would be satisfied with one of them. I ended up adjusting color contrast and brightness manually until I got what I wanted.

No DVI input on the monitor just one VGA and one HDMI. This is not a problem however as ASUS gives you a DVI to...

Fantastic display
I received this monitor right on time as promised. set it up and connected it in just a few minutes. It replaced a wide screen, HD monitor so no adjustments were necessary. It has a fantastic image, full screen, fast refresh rate with no blur. touch buttons are easy, but had to figure out menu navigation. documentation is minimal. This is my second ASUS monitor, and have had absolutly no problems. My old one will continued to be used on a secondary computer. HDMI to DVI cable is short unless your cpu is right next to the monitor. I had to use a HDMI coupler and extend it with another HDMI cable. Still I give this monitor 5 stars!! right out of the box.

Acer G-Series monitors sport a super-slim profile with an X-shaped stand that lets them fit nicely in spaces of any size. Oustanding performance, eco-friendliness and smart use of energy complement the sleek design - all while staying well within budget. The Acer G276HL Dbmid showcases a large 27" Widescreen LCD with impressive 1920 x 1080 resolution and 2 integrated speakers. • The G-Series 27" LCD is designed for High-Definition with a stunning 1920 x 1080 resolution.
  • Rapid 6ms response time reduces deviations in transition time to deliver high-quality moving images bringing immersive graphics to your movies and games.
  • The G276HL adopts 178°(H) / 178°(V) ultra wide viewing angle VA panel that eliminates color shift on your screen no matter where and how you look at it.

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Sometimes it's the less expensive ones that really surprise you.
I have been through 6 different 27 LCD monitors ranging in price from $240 to $1100 over the last month, this Acer is the ONLY one that does not have any backlight bleeding or clouding issues. It is the little things like this that one would expect from any LCD panel, especially the very expensive ones, but much to many of them seem to have these problems, Asus being the worst.

Monitor connected with DVI cable, I cannot speak to the VGA or HDMI quality as I have not tested that.

PROS

- No dead pixels
- No always on pixels
- Bright screen, crisp text, uniform color
- No backlight bleeding (even on the highest brightness setting)
- No clouding
- Super thin
- Light
- HDMI, DVI and VGA connections (comes with all 3 cables!)
- VESA mountable
- Viewing angle is nice, not as good as IPS panel, but these VA panels Acer is using do a good job
- Matte screen preventing any distracting reflections

2. Great Monitor For The Money
I was really skeptical of a $200 27" monitor. I thought I would have to pay way more to get something to use with my late 2008 model Macbook Pro. I will be using it mostly for photography. I am always editing photos and really wanted a bigger screen when I am home to edit on, and I have a very tight budget. So I took a chance on this Acer and am very happy with it so far! Out of the box yes it needs some adjusting. It comes WAY too bright, but after getting used to the controls on the monitor. It was fairly easy to get it where I wanted it. The sharpness is great and color is great and I just love having all that extra screen real estate to edit with. I am a Lightroom user and having my macbook pro screen with the grid on all the time, and the acer with the image full screen is wonderful!! I would buy another one in a heartbeat it is hard to beat it at this price point!!

A fantastic work monitor
I already had two of the Acer S271HL LED monitors. I needed a third, but the S series monitors are now up to 369 dollars - too rich for my blood. So i took a chance on this G series monitor. Well even tho it considered to be inferior to the S series according to the Acer website, from a functional standpoint, i can't tell a difference and it is slightly brighter than my two S series monitors (I actually had to dim it a bit to get it to match the other two). It's stand is a bit of a different shape from the 2012 S series which is not a concern to me and the viewable height is identical within an 8th of an inch or so.

This monitor does have integrated speakers which are predictably bad. The only issue i had with them was that they automatically set themselves to be the default speakers and I had to go into the control panel and reset my original 2.1 system as the default. not a big deal at all, but i feel it is worth mentioning.

I use these monitors for some...

Acer H274HL BMID 27-Inch LED Widescreen LCD Display - Black

Cheap Acer H274HL BMID 27-Inch LED Widescreen LCD Display - Black

The Acer H274HL monitor is made for those who appreciate stylish design matched by superb performance.
  • 27 inch Widescreen LED Monitor
  • 1920-by-1080 resolution
  • Ultra-high 100 million:1 contrast ratio
  • 16:9 aspect ratio,
  • High 300 cd/m2 brightness

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Quality 27 Incher
Extremely happy with this display. Was able to achieve the rich and natural image quality one expects from a good monitor with very little tweaking and calibration. No defective pixels or frustrating back light bleed. This will be the third display I've owned from Acer and I'm happy to say that the excellent quality has remained consistent. Very comfortable viewing while both gaming and designing ads in Photoshop. It's aesthetically beautiful while mounted as well. Auto-input selection is a plus and navigating the menu system is a snap thanks to the responsive touch sensitive panel on the front. My gaming rig, Xbox 360 and PS3 are all connected and look stunning. Gaming on all fronts is very satisfying. This of one of three 27" monitors I purchased at the same time; the other two being Samsung and ASUS brands. I thought for sure the Samsung would be the pick of the litter based on reviews but I was proven wrong. This Acer was indeed the standout.

As far as cons...

2. The perfect, cheap 27 inch monitor I was looking for.
After lots of comparing to the other affordable 27 inchers I bought this one in June of 2011 after a few much needed specifications from FiSH, the other reviewer above. I narrowed my search down to the Viewsonic VX2753mh, Samsung S27A550H, the Acer S273HL and this one. The Samsung was overpriced and apparently not worth the extra money. The Viewsonic seemed bulky and ugly in design, and the other Acer looked like a piece of modern art that would get annoying very quickly.

Turning this Acer H274HL on for the first time I immediately knew I'd chosen wisely. It's everything I was looking for; thin, light, looks good, comes with all the cables you could use and even after hours of use it stays easy on the eyes. I work in an extremely well lit, bright room with big windows, and I'm amazed at how clear and bright the image is even from across the room at the height of daylight. It is an absolute pleasure to read and work on this screen, my eyes just don't get tired! And 27 inch...

Great display, very horrible speakers
Like I mentioned in the title, the display is wonderful. The color is vibrant, and picture and texts are sharp. No light bleeding or dead pixel that I noticed. Viewing angles are great and non glaring. The default refresh rate was at 1920x1080p 60hz. I created a custom resolution through Nvidia control panel at 1920x1080p 78hz and increased the digital vibrancy value by a little and the pictures become even better! I have played Battlefield 3 PC on this and the graphics look amazing. No ghosting or whatsoever. Although I am not sure whether this is a common issue for this model but there seems to be blue color banding towards the lighter tone (checked through here "tft vanity dk" google it). If other monitor owner's can verify this that be great. Another tiny annoyance, like a reviewer mentioned, there is a slight learning curve with the monitor's settings menu. The manual just tells you how to set up the monitor and that's it..

My only qualms about this monitor is that the...

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Monitor -- don't believe the brightness complaints
This is a great monitor -- well thought out, great ergonomics, excellent color reproduction, and of course, a spectacular field of view, thanks to the premium IPS screen. I can look at this screen from virtually any angle without color shifts or brightness changes.

Don't believe the reviews that complain about dimness problems...I don't know what kind of retina-searing technology people are looking for, but this monitor is actually a bit brighter than the LED-backlit screen on my MacBook, which is itself a fairly bright screen. I run them both side-by-side, and I couldn't be happier with the pairing. I've had no complaints about image quality, whatsoever.

Aside from the quality of the panel, this monitor has lots of nice little touches that I demand from a "pro" monitor: a 5-inch height adjust (ESSENTIAL for me, as I'm over six feet tall); the ability to pivot the screen 180 degrees; a wide, stable stand; and a minimalist design. This is not one of those...

2. Cost-Efficient Pre-Press Monitor
If you make a living creating content for pre-press, this monitor will do just fine. With a little calibration (the set-up calibration was very close!) you'll get good accurate color. Works great with a Macintosh. The matte finish on the screen is a real plus! The adjustable height, rotation and swivel also make life easier. (I'm kind of amazed that other manufacturers omit these features) Apple, Eizo, NEC and Lacie might have a tiny edge on color accuracy - and I've worked on all of them - but for under $300, this Viewsonic makes good sense for a small business like mine. I have more than 35 years of pre-press experience with magazines, newspapers and just about any printed item you can think of, plus I've been using Photoshop and page layout software since their creation. This is the best value in a new pre-press monitor I've ever come across. If you need a fast, bright monitor for movies and gaming, get one of the cheaper TN panels from Samsung. If you're a design...

Excellent mid-high-end Monitor
We've been buying the Apple Cinema Displays for their IPS LED technology, but some users have serious glare issues in their work environment and Apple sticks to the glossy surfaces. So after some searching online, this one came up among maybe two. I've had good luck with the high-end Samsungs which work well with Mac OSX's anti-aliasing. Text is dark, thick and smooth where some cheap displays give you some hard-to-read thin faint lettering.

Lights up full and fast, no warm-up delays. The only dings are not really its fault per-se. The widescreen resolution makes our users think it's missing a couple inches top to bottom, and its aesthetics are a little dull: high quality, but dull.

Fully recommend.
