Go big or go home. The Dell 30-inch widescreen monitor is a visual wonder, boasting a fast response time, high contrast ratio and ultra-high resolution. Color and detail have never looked better or bigger thanks to the brilliantly bright display and Dell’s UltraSharpTM technology. There are plenty of reasons why Dell is America’s #1 source for flat-panel displays – the 3007WFP-HC is one more. To fully utilize your new 3007WFP-HC monitor and enjoy the ultra-high resolution settings, your ...
- Large 30" viewing screen

This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. I love it.
It's big, bright, fast, beautiful and did I mention it's big? I mean two side-by-side magnified A4 documents big. The $1100 price is great too compared to other 30" models.
The reason why this monitor is considered obsolete by Dell is the complaints from videophiles about its lack of connectivity options. Specifically, dual-link DVI is the only way in. So, if you are planning on connecting game machines or BlueRay drives or HD cable boxes via HDMI, you are out of luck. But, why would you want to do that? Even full HD video only goes up to 1920x1080. This monitor does 2560x1600. It makes a lot more sense to pay $800 for a 42" 1080p LCD TV, which is bigger and better for viewing video anyway. This is an ultra-high-resolution monitor, pure and simple, and I love it for doing a good job there.

2. Better than expected
I bought this monitor as soon as I upgraded my computer. I'm currently using a ATI HD 5850 video card, so the 2560x1600 resolution is amazing. The main reason I went with this monitor was the IPS panel and the 16:10 ratio, which I prefer to the 27" 16:9. With something this big, you really need an IPS panel or you'll have some serious color problems on the sides. The 16:10 ratio means you get more space for toolbars on the top and bottom of your screen, but there will be some black bars on the top and bottom if your playing a standard DVD.
I have a blu-ray player in this computer, and it's just stunning to see the quality on this large screen. The first blu-ray I bought was Chronos, also available on amazon, and it's just incredible. If you look really closely, you don't see the pixels of the screen, you see the texture of the film! Simply awesome.
I do some graphics work but mostly 3d animation, so my main concern is size(for manipulating objects) over...

Still Best in Class
I agree with the other reviewer in that this 30" is the leader in its class of IPS panel with gorgeous resolution and yet affordable price. Connectivity is hardly an issue if you intend to use it at its native 2560x1600 (why would anyone use any lower res). Apple has stopped making 30" Cinema so even the double priced alternate is gone. Get this one, you won't regret it.
