This Monitors give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Works great for a VESA setup
There's not a whole lot of reviews on this unit (on the internet) and since I wanted something to replace my 27" monitor with a smaller bezel, this seemed like the perfect fit. Since the AMVA+ panels seemed to be getting good reviews from reputable message boards, so I decided to go out on a whim and get it.

First thing, there is a variable amount of burn in time for the unit, and even that said, it's not a great unit for someone that doesn't enjoy calibrating it to perfection. However when I got it to settings I liked I was very impressed with the color and viewing angles, something that plagued my old HP 2709m. It's light and moves when asked too by my monitor arms (Even though my arms say their rated for 22" monitors). Also, the bezels, it's crazy thin.

The only thing I'd say could be a con is that the front of the button panel seems to get very warm to the touch, but I don't really have my hands on my monitor a whole lot.

2. Great Monitors
These monitors are amazing, I got 2 and put them on a double monitor mount and the amount of real estate is amazing! plus they have a very small bezel that I barely even notice. they are super fast turning on and don't really heat up all that much if at all. the only problem now is that I have to turn my head looking from one side to the other... :)

A decent monitor, but not for all
Let me preface my review by saying I'm extremely picky with monitors. I used CRTs well into the LCD era because of the defects of LCDs and the reasons CRTs are superior to LCDs (response time, black levels, and so on). The first LCD I ever bought was an MVA panel Viewsonic, a nice screen but it had too aggressive of antiglare (AG) coating. I replaced that monitor with a 24" Samsung SyncMaster 244T. Perfection in a monitor. I used this monitor for many years, and this is the monitor the VN279Q had to beat to replace. I want to wall mount my screen and given the space I thought increasing the screen size a little bit might help.

Unfortunately basically all new monitors at this size are 16:9 be they 1920x1080 or 2560x1440. I strongly preferred the 16:10 ratio 1920x1200 on my 244T but was willing to get over this. I can say the aspect ratio does not bother me so bad, but sometimes things can seem especially wide compared to how they were on 16:10. This Asus VN279Q uses an AMVA+...
